About KWC

It started in 1874, when Adolf Karrer began manufacturing music boxes in Unterkulm, Switzerland. Soon after, the invention of the gramophone caused a steep decline in the demand for such products, so after only 13 years, it was necessary for KWC to look to other ventures for revenue. Production of gas faucets began in 1887, and the production of sanitary fittings soon afterwards. Early on, KWC saw the need for innovation on the industrial side of faucet technology, fitting large professional kitchens in hotels, restaurants, health service, education and sports facilities with KWC faucets.

By the beginning of the twentieth century, such famous hotels as the Negresco in Nice and the Ritz in Paris were adorned with KWC faucets. The sleek elegance and functionality of KWC faucets were revolutionary for their day, and the most opulent facilities in Europe made sure that they were dressed with the faucets.

KWC's largest market is Switzerland, where KWC AG (corporate headquarters) holds a market share of nearly 50%. The largest foreign markets are Germany, France, Italy, Austria, and the US; while exporting to more than 30 countries overall. Production is concentrated in Unterkulm, where the latest technology is employed, but has also expanded to accommodate assembly in the US. This adjustment in the manufacturing process allows for shorter ordering lead time and increased efficiency in distribution. KWC AG is also the leading Swiss manufacturer of sanitary faucets operating internationally, while simultaneously regarded as the world's leading supplier of low-pressure die-casting equipment for non-ferrous metals.

Product Warranty

KWC FAUCETS INC. extends the following warranties to the original purchaser of its product effective Jan. 1, 1998.

Residential Installation: All products installed in a private residence will carry a LIMITED LIFETIME WARRANTY on all mechanical parts to be free of manufacturing defects in material and workmanship under normal usage. All chrome and SPLENDURE™ polished brass products carry a LIMITED LIFETIME WARRANTY on the finish and all other finishes carry a FIVE YEAR WARRANTY (5) from the date of original purchase.
